Updates

Once again I have been completely slack and not posted for months :S I have thought about it a couple of times and not gotten anywhere...

October Missions were good. The fishing was cancelled due to bad weather. But The rest all happened... Motorhead were awesome - Can't say the same about the support acts. Now I like a bit of extreme/death metal as much as the next guy, but supporting Motorhead? It seemed a bit odd. Only caught the last to support acts, Dawn of Azazel and 8 Foot Sativa. DoA sucked complete ass, their sound was complete crap, just a muddy noise. 8 Foot were a lot better sounding but still didn't do a lot for me.
Motorhead were as I was expecting rather loud, I had earplugs, and used them! One of my mates commented that I must be getting older, and I replied 'Yeah, and wiser!'
They played a lot of songs that I knew and a few that I wasn't familiar with. Overkill was the final encore - They left the stage with feedback still wailing :)
And I didnt realise until after I had done some research that Mikkey Dee is the drummer for Motorhead, I thought the name sounded familar... and he was with King Diamond in the 80's (on Them and Conspiracy) His drum solo was amazing!

Theres another big concert coming up over Easter next year - Rock2WGTN with Ozzy, Kiss & Alice Cooper (more to be announced) I'm keen to go, but it's going to be an expensive event... I have seen Ozzy and Kiss before. Kiss put on a wicked show, but the Ozzy gig suffered from poor sound, it was held at the Logan Campbell Centre which should explain everything :(
Anyway, I think I will wait till the final lineup is announced and see what I think then.

As I said earlier the fishing trip in October was cancelled, but I did get out on the water Sunday just gone (9th Dec) and had a great day.
I've not been out fishing a lot in the past but it was all good. Was up at 5am and on the road at 6am. We got to Kawhia and boarded The Dove at 7. We were well offshore and out fishing til after 4pm There were 14 of us fishing and we caught a total of 90 Snapper. The limit is 10 each, so we were still well under that. We divided the fish up on the wharf ended up with 6 Snapper 2 Gurnard and 2 Kawhai each!
I personally caught 3 Snapper two of which were good 6 or 7 pounders. Also got a couple of Kawhai and a gurnard. Aside fronm that we were also catching Barracuda which are no good. They are full of worms and are inedible. They got thrown straight over the side again. And also Mackerel which were bait fish.
The weather was very overcast and a couple of light showers. But it was good as it meant we didn't have to worry about sunburn.
So my freezer is full of fish now, tis yum :D

Coming up to Christmas holidays now, couple of weeks to go... We have our Work function this Friday, having it out at one of the rural halls. The theme is 'medieval feast' However I don't do fucking costumes. :P
Then Saturday is the LAN club Christmas event - Which will include drinks.

Haven't got anything planned for the break at this point. Although I intend to stay home for Xmas day. Had a blow out with Mum quite a few years back now, so stay away from the Olds at Christmas. The one time I have been back since then as soon as I walked in the the first thing Mum said was negative - and I didn't want to be there anyway so it didn't help.
I always maintain that Christmas is for Kids and Christians and I am neither!
